Workplace Safety

Being an admired company is not just about performance and achievements, but also about acting responsibly, ethically, and legally to protect our employees, reputation, and company assets. This year, our awareness campaign Working in The Vodafone Way focuses on the following six areas:Health and safety at work,Anti-corruption,Competition law,Confidentiality,Intellectual property,Security.
All of us (including our suppliers/contractors) must understand and follow the Absolute Rules, which are essential elements of our health and safety. The purpose of these rules is to focus attention on the most common causes of accidents that result in fatalities and serious injuries. If basic health and safety standards at work are not respected, this can result in physical harm or even the loss of life of our employees.

No one should be harmed as a result of Vodafone’s business in any country – this includes our employees, suppliers/contractors, and the general public. Therefore, Vodafone’s goal is ZERO ACCIDENTS RESULTING IN DEATH OR INJURY.

The Absolute Rules are:

  • Always wear a seatbelt when traveling or driving vehicles.

  • Always use appropriate personal protective equipment when working at heights (personal protective equipment must be attached at all times when working at height).

  • Never perform electrical work on devices or circuits unless qualified to do so.

  • Never work under the influence of substances (alcohol or illegal drugs), never exceed legal limits for these substances, and avoid them completely if their use impairs the ability to perform tasks.

  • Never exceed speed limits and never drive at speeds that are dangerous for the type and condition of the road or vehicle.

  • Never use handheld mobile devices while driving; make calls only after pulling over safely, or use hands-free devices when conditions allow.

Proper Use of Mobile Phones and Laptops


As a responsible business, the health and well-being of our employees and clients is a priority. We continuously provide wellness advice and have produced two videos offering useful tips on the proper use of mobile phones and laptops. Proper use of these devices for business or entertainment can positively impact your health if you practice:

  • Correct posture

  • Regular breaks while using these devices

  • Proper positioning of devices
