What are fraudulent phone calls (Wangiri Fraud)?
These are missed calls from international numbers you don’t recognize, whether on a mobile phone or a landline device. Scammers generating these missed calls aim to get you to call back these very expensive international numbers, known as Wangiri numbers. Receiving such a call does not mean you were specifically targeted. The scammers usually make missed calls to a series of random numbers, among which your number may have been included.
How to protect yourself?
If you receive a missed call from an international number you don’t recognize, do not call back and report it for free to Vodafone Albania at 140/149. Calls made to Wangiri numbers are very costly due to high international tariffs.Vodafone Albania informs you that it has taken immediate measures to protect all subscribers from incoming calls generated by these numbers with international prefixes and is working together with other national and international operators to stop this illegal activity.
