Young people across Europe will have the opportunity to receive reliable and inspiring information about Artificial Intelligence through a series of 60 entertaining videos on social media launched by the Vodafone Foundation.
The latest campaign from the Vodafone Foundation, “Me Myself & AI” (Me, Myself, and Artificial Intelligence), is a series of meme videos, information, and practical tips shared on TikTok and YouTube in the UK, Portugal, Spain, the Netherlands, Germany, Italy, Albania, and Romania.
The campaign addresses the growing challenge for youth and their relationship with Artificial Intelligence. The daily impact of AI—whether consciously through applications like ChatGPT or unconsciously through AI tools embedded in social media platforms—leaves young people confused about how to navigate or trust this rapidly advancing technology.
“Me Myself & AI” is designed to help young people better understand the mechanisms, risks, and opportunities created by Artificial Intelligence and to provide resources that can support teachers worldwide.
Albania is making significant strides in integrating digital and AI-related skills into the education system in line with national goals to prepare youth for the digital economy. Although artificial intelligence is not yet a standalone subject in school curricula, the government is emphasizing digital skills at all levels of education. The “National Education Strategy and Action Plan 2021-2026” aims to improve ICT infrastructure and promote innovation through competency-based curricula, gradually incorporating new technologies like AI to help students adapt to the evolving digital landscape.
Speaking about the campaign “Me Myself & AI,” Joakim Reiter, Director of External and Corporate Affairs at Vodafone and Vodafone Foundation, said, “Young people adapt to new technologies faster than the rest of society, and schools often struggle to keep pace with this trend. This campaign empowers youth across Europe to think and use AI creatively but responsibly. By being more informed about how technology works, young people can weigh any risks that AI might present.”
Some of the topics covered by the short videos as part of the campaign include:
- How does AI technology work?
- What risks does the use of AI present?
- Where do the data used for AI applications come from?
“Me Myself and AI” is part of the Kliick initiative, a pan-European project by the Vodafone Foundation aimed at addressing the issues faced by young people in the digital world. The campaign supports the broader programs of the Vodafone Foundation in developing essential digital skills for life, including Skills Upload Jr, which in Albania is known as Generation Next—a pan-European initiative empowering teachers and students in the safe, creative, and critical use of digital technologies.
